Series In The Spotlight: Bodyguard by Chris Bradford

Series in the Spotlight: Bodyguard
A fast paced action series, with moderate violence. A satisfying read.

In this SitS, I am covering a great series called the Body Guard. It was like Alex Rider crossed with James Bond, so as you've guessed, very action packed, with a slight flair of romance.
It follows the story of Connor, a buddyguard, who protects young teenagers from terrorist attacks, crazed fans and knife fights. Disguised as their friend, he operates virtually unnoticed, and manages to defeat evil at every turn.

If you'd like to read on, then click "Read More" below. If this book doesn't tickle your fancy, then keep scrolling!
The violence in the books isn't extreme, but I wouldn't suggest this book for a shrinking violet. It describes knife-fights, shoot-outs and bombs in detail, so I'd call it your general action shoot-'em-up kind of read. It doesn't cover any sexual scenes, but there are infrequent scatterings of rude words, throughout the series.

My only fault with it, is it's predictability. Of COURSE his father was a spy, and of COURSE the SAS want him, as a new younger bodyguard, and of COURSE he passes their sneaky tests, showing bravery, courage and loyalty, etc. etc. However, if you can see through the re-occurring pattern that spreads across all young-spy thrillers, then I would wholeheartedly recommend this for anyone who's a fan of Alex Rider or Cherub. Looking forward to the next in the series!
