It certainly was, as it was an exact copy of the film - I had an uncanny feeling of being able to play the scenes in my head as I was reading the book. Due to this, I can't make many comments on the book - it was exactly the same as the film, so my thoughts on that can just be reapplied here. The only comments I can make would be in the form of material itself: a style I'm not so fond of. Books bring the world to life with in depth description, character development and sway, but the screen play is like a stripped down version. Description is kept to a minimum, dialogue is used without any adjectives to liven it up. That said, it is a specialist form of media, and just because I prefer a book format, who am I to judge?
The real question should be whether it is worth reading/watching both the film and the screen play. In my opinion, this is clear - no. I'd recommend the film instead, as the special effects, actors and music bring the story to life, and the play doesn't actually add anything. If you're a hardcore fan, don't let me stop you, but I don't think you'll find anything more that what was presented in the film.
